"Our customers do not pay for nice to have, they need to have, in the case of services and repairs. When shipowners need something fixed, they need it now. That is when I come into the picture. I am used to handling big things. Show me a picture and I can say directly what we can do about it. With my experience, the scale of the job and the size of the equipment is not a problem. Everything is doable, even 30-tonne steel repairs.
Where I sit, you need someone who knows the business both on site and on paper. My work is figuring out how best to do what we do. That means I travel a lot, but nowadays I also get to spend most nights in my own bed, which is definitely a bonus."
